Birds of the World Brings Massive Birding Database to Everyone…Right?

While it’s easy to imagine that birding is open to everyone given its low cost of entry and participants’ ability to do it anywhere, there are some critical considerations around who is able to access resources like Birds of the World—and who is welcome in the birding community in the first place.

Courtenay is taking LIS 530: Technology, Information, and Society in the Fall semester of 2022 at the University of Alberta for completion of the online MLIS program. This site was created to house some of the coursework.
